31

I turned 31 last Friday. I think I am still in denial that I am heading towards 40 faster than I would like to be. It feels just like yesterday that Mitch and I were having a ball in NYC for my bday last year. That will be one of the best times of my life, I am sure of it. This year was definately different. We woke up to Carly puking and having a fever of 101 and so the day just didnt have a good start to it. After that I felt grumpy and tired since we were up much earlier than usual. Mitch and the kids made me breakfast, my fav, my everyday usual...steelcut oats, greek yogurt with berries and an egg.  We went on our morning walk and the girls joined us this time. The weather was overcast and even rained on us a little, which I love rainy weather. We went to lunch at Costa Vida, our favorite spot in town. And then ran some errands. It felt like a regular day but my family and friends made it special, despite my grumpy mood and sick baby. Carly was feeling ok, not her normal self but good enoug for us to go to dinner in Durango. My bestie kept Brynley and Carly for us, since I figured to be on the safe side I didnt want a puking child in such a nice restaurant. Mitch took me, Caleb, Aubrie, Cody and my mom and Phil to East by Southwest. It is so good! The best sushi I have ever had. Dinner was nice and the drive up and back from Durango was nice. There was even a double rainbow on our way up there. Thank you Mitchy for treating us all to dinner, that was nice of you. I am beyond grateful for such amazing friends and family that stopped by to see me and give me presents and sweet cards and all the facebook messages, made my day. I am thankful for the happiness that they bring to me. The best part of my day though was reading the homemade cards that my kids and hubby made me. All of them were perfect and so heartfelt.
Here are some pics from our dinner.

Dance Studio Photos

Here are the girls' dance photos that the studio had taken by their photographer. Cute poses and such beautiful girls but I am not in love with the quality of the photos:( I think the ones I took turned out better so if you want any of these printed, leave me a comment or let me know and I would be more than happy to get any of the ones I took printed off too. Click here to see those again.

I love Pinterest. Enough said. Really whoever invented this site must be one of the most clever individuals in the world. I simply love the fact that you can find just about anything on there. Sewing tutorials, recipes {oh the recipes}, cleaning tips, fitness tips, crafts galore, home improvement, clothes, ideas for kids, quotes, lets face it, its the motherload of all things awesome. I love finding new quotes to pin and keep. I wanted to share a few of my favs.

Precious

The other day Carly fell asleep taking a nap, just like this...

Look at those cute lips of hers too.

As of Late...

I forgot completely to blog about my sister Heather coming to town a few weeks ago! She showed up for a visit and to escape all the smoke in the Denver area when all the fires were going crazy all over up there. We had a nice time seeing her. We had dinner for my brother Cody for his 25th bday and Heather made him a cake. Brynley loved helping her in the kitchen and playing with her dog Henna.

We rode four wheelers and enjoyed the warm weather!

Caleb took Mitch on what looked like a crazy ride:)

Brynley likes when Papa Phil takes her on a "fast" ride.

Caleb and Aubrie were playing Mancala. I love how Aubrie is stragetically thinking about how to whoop her brother.

This is the picture where she did whoop on him, love her face in this.

We have been loving summer and taking advantage of swimming, going to the splahs pad and playing in the backyard on our waterslide. I just love summer time.

A Sneak Peek

I have this friend, who I pretty much adore, that is a fabulous photographer. Rachel was in town visiting her family and was available to do some shoots exclusively for couples. She is gearing her business to be more about her "beloved" shoots and I have to think that this is such a wonderful, brilliant idea. How awesome to have your love captured in moments and still life. LOVE IT.
Mitch and I never got engagement pictures, let alone decent wedding pictures. So I took advantage of this opportunity with Rachel since she lives in CA and doesnt get to visit here often. It was such a great time with her and with my hubby. Intimate and personable. Perfect for remembering why we said "I DO" over 12 years ago. Every picture seems to capture exactly how we are with eachother, comfortable, trusted and in love. Still. I will post more pictures when I get the CD in a few days. Until now, here are a few of our favorites. Thank you Rachel! So glad we did this.

Skaters

My girls have been completely obsessed with riding Caleb and Mitch's old skateboards on the back patio the past few days. Today, I looked out to see them each looking like little earth muffins and wearing fairy wings, while practicing their skateboarding skills. Gotta love em!
