I'm doing it...
We all have lists of things we want to do in life and for some reason don't accomplish some of those things. Why? Well I am tired of putting off some of those goals that I want to do. One of those goals that I have wanted to do is run a marathon. Okay, not a full 26 mile one but I think I could do a 5K. So four weeks ago I started my training for my run that will be in October in Durango. I decided to post this for two reasons, one, Maran if you read this, I hope I am making you proud. You helped inspire me to finally do this. I know you have tried to talk me into it several times but I guess I finally had to talk myself into it! And two, I hope can inspire others to do he same. Not run. But do what you having always had a passion for or make a new goal that will make you feel good about yourself. Quit procastinating... Wish me luck and good luck to all of you too!

Another milestone...
Aubrie started school today! Gosh my little babes are growing up too fast. She missed the cut off day by one day to attend kindergarten in public school. We had originally wanted her to go full day kindergarten at Casa Montessori and then go into first grade next year but felt that her being an older kid in kindergarten would be the best decision for her. So... she is going half days everyday and had her first day today. She really enjoyed it and cant wait to go tomorrow.

Familes can be together forever...

Last Saturday Mitch and I went down to the Albuquerque temple to do some work for my family. It had been since before Brynley was born that we have been able to go so we were definately overdue for a visit. We had such a nice time together talking on the way back and forth and had such an emotional experience at the temple. We did my great grandmother Kathryn's work and my great grandfather Glenn's. Kathryn my grandpa's mom and Glenn is my grandma's dad. Both if their spouses have been gone for awhile and so then we were able to seal each couple and then seal my uncle Brad to Glenn and Faye. It was the first time we did work for someone we knew and what a great thing it was. I am so into doing my geneology now! I found it so touching that we were able to do this for them and knew that they too were grateful.

When life throws curve balls...
Lately I have found myself at several crossroads in my life. Things I never thought I would face and have to deal with. Unfortunately that's the way life is. It will throw you curve balls. Its how you decided to act that will determine the outcome of those hard strikes. In general I try to be an optimistic person but people and circumstances can bring a person down. And again that is life we are each responsible for our own actions and agency, we dont have control over what others do or think. On the flipside, Life has been very good to me. I really cant complain and say I havent been blessed. I thought in lots of ways my life was almost perfect. That came crashing down and pulled me back into reality. I have found myself realizing so much about myself that I never knew I would discover and learn. See, even the "perfectness" of things can wear on a person. Is it all just an illusion or can people really have it all? Nope. I dont think so. I have come to the conclusion that if we did have it "all" then what would we strive for? What would give us the drive to keep going? And if we did have it all then the other blessings we get on top of it, are just extra for safe keeping? Why would someone else be so much more blessed than another. No one has it "all". And if they say they do they are only fooling themselves. God blesses each individual the way he sees fit to. It is in his hands. But we also have been given our free agency and the choices and decisions we make will determine how our life turns out.
I often wonder if my life was the way it was supposed to be. One decision changed my life forever. One. That one decision shaped me into the adult I would become and the life I would have. Or did it? I have been very happy and blessed in so many ways because of that one decision. That one decision did however change my life, I have just held the power that has molded my life into what I make of it. What a neat concept. Only a wise, loving God would have bestowed this gift to us.The power to choose and the power to determine how the story will end, for the most part. But for the most part.( sorry I had to throw that in there) I have taken it upon myself to mold myself and be a better person. Being a mother of three, I am responsible for their lives and the way it can turn out. So does that mean one decision I make on their behalf can change their life forever too. Possibly. How scary. Being a person here on earth having our own life experiences can be overwhelming in its own but then having to decide the future of three others is almost daunting. Can I possibly make the right decisions for them all of the time? Probably not. But I at least have to try. Life is such a beautiful, tragic, wonderful, complex experience. I hope can cannot take it forgranted. Such easy, soft words to say but the actions can speak much louder.

Can it be true??

Caleb went to his first day of fourth grade!! Yes, I said fourth grade. I cant believe how fast this time has gone with him. He only has two yrs of elementary school left and he will go to middle school, now that is scary. I am happy for him, he got a wonderful teacher and lots of friends in his class. He was very excited this morning when I walked him to school. Of course he wanted me to walk him until we got to the school and then he turned to me and said "I've got it from here Mom." He hugged me and his sisters and then off he went. Oh the pain a mother can feel.

Fun at the Fair
We went to the fair/carnival on Monday night. We had a great time! My kids favorite thing to do is to ride the fun slide at the carnival. I think even Mitch likes it too! I had to post this because it was so funny, when we saw the cows they had a fain blowing right at their rear ends. Why?? I have no idea but ti was hilarious!

Picnic at Lemon
This past saturday we celebrated my cousin Hannah's 13th birthday at Lemon. The kids had fun in the creek, sliding down the rock slide. When I was younger I used to do the same thing! Very cool that my kids still get to enjoy something that I once did. We had some great BBQ, which as you can see Brynley loved. The weather and scenery were beautiful, it was a great day in the mountains.

Caleb knows how to party

We woke him up singing Happy Birthday to you!
On Friday we had a party for Caleb and his friends. We went played kickball at the baseball fields and then walked across the street to the Aquatic Center to swim. It was so much fun and then we went back to our house to have cake and ice cream. On sunday I had a family party and Caleb wanted homemade pizza's for dinner. He got "the surprise of his life" or so he says, he got a Wii from us and lots of great gifts from his family. It was a great day to celebrate the day Caleb was born.

HAPPY 9TH BIRTHDAY CALEB!
Happy Birthday My Amazing, Smart, Loving, intelligent, funny, Handsome, compassionate, athletic, Fantastic Son! I am so happy you were born. This day 9 yrs ago changed my life forever. It was the best day and has been ever since. You have brought so much joy and happiness to Dad and I. We love you and are so proud of who you are!

Capsized....
The Isaacson's invited us to go to Lake Haviland with them yesterday. We went kayaking and canoeing. The weather was great and the scenery fantastic. Mitch took Caleb ans Brynley out for the first time on the canoe and of course something happened... They capsized! I was a little freaked out but was very thankful for lifevests, they do save lives. Besides that first incident, the day was great. Thanks for sharing a great day Isaacsons!
