Easter 2013

Playing some "Catch"-Up

I can't believe I havent posted since the end of February!  We are always so busy and I also have had alot of other distractions in my life that I felt needed my attention more than my blog. But hopefully I can keep up on better especially with summer quickly approaching or maybe we will be so busy enjoying the summer that I wont have time to post again, either way I am enjoying staying busy and we are all doing well. Something new....Caleb made the FHS Baseball C-team! We are so proud of him and all of his hard work and committment to the game he loves. While he has had some ups and downs, I know he would agree that he is learning alot about baseball and about himself. As an 8th grader, you are at the bottom of the totem pole but Caleb has proven to be worth the spot of being on the team and has proven to the coaches why they chose him. A highlight that happened last week was he was playing right field, a position he has rarely ever played since playing ball and hasnt played there yet this season but he was there when a popfly was heading his way, he back peddled towards the fence, caught the ball and threw it ALL THE WAY TO HOME PLATE from right field. Not too many people can do that! The catcher caught it and we got the out. It was by far one of the best moments we have seen with Caleb. Very cool. He gets to pitch, play third and hit in the line up. He is blossoming into a really great ball player.

For Spring break we decided to just take it easy and hang out at home. We slept in, went bowling, ate ice cream, played games, watched movies and took a little day trip to Pagosa Springs, Co. Here are some pictures from that day. When we got there to the springs, Carly says "It smells like my eggs." Haha. It really did but was the perfect day to enjoy the springs.

This week...

Poor Aubs has been so sick this week. She has had a really high fever since Saturday, along with headaches, sore throat and a horrible cough. She has been so sick, I kept her home from school each day this week so far. Today she seems to be on the mend and I am tempted to keep her home again tomorrow. She has been getting ansy being at home even feeling as bad as she has been , she misses her teacher and her friends. She really loves school and is missing her dance and soccer activities as well. I hope no one else gets it and that she feels better by the weekend.  She is still my little beauty even being such a sicky.

Caleb presented his National History Day project last night and man, I am so happy that it  is done. Papa Phil helped Caleb make the board out of plywood and make the sign look so good. Caleb painted it all and  Me and him stayed up late one night putting it all together. Papa Terry sent his cool coin from Hawaii for him to use as a primary source on his board too. It took a village to put this thing together, so here it is...

I am so proud of Caleb! He did all the research and put a big paper together about Pearl Harbor. He had started out with a different idea but ended up at the last minute changing it because of his interest in Pearl Harbor. He added some pictures of our trip to Hawaii when we got to go and actually see it in person, so he has a personal connection with it and wanted to share that through his project. He gets to represent Hermosa next week at Regionals and if he places there, he will move on to state that is in April. Great job Cal!

Our Birthday Girl

Our baby girl turned 3 on Wednesday! Miss Carly is growing up so much. She seems to have even over night. Since all of her siblings have had their birthdays the past 6 months, she has been counting down  and waiting patiently for her special day. She talked about her pink cake that she wanted and her "berbay" presents for weeks. She wanted everything princess and got some great new things she loves. She woke up so early on her birthday. Mitch had gone early to get her some donuts and so we sang Happy Birthday to her and let her blow out three candles on her donuts. After we sang to her she said "Thank you for my berbay." She was just so excited and super adorable all day.

We are so blessed to have this little gem in our family. Carly likes to ....
Play with her sisters and brother
Anything princess and watches the movies all the time

Baseball Try Outs

Yesterday Caleb went to his first day of High school baseball try outs. He was really nervous but ended up having a good day! He impressed the coaches with his hitting. Its going to be a very long month of practice but I hope even though he is an 8th grader that he will make the C-team and get the opportunity to play. Keeping our fingers crossed Caleb! We are super proud of you!

Teefers

Last week Caleb got his braces on. He has to wear them for 2 years and seems to be adjusting well to them. I think he looks older with them on. Crazy to think he will be almost 16 when he gets them off.

And then out of nowhere, this chic lost her first tooth!! The tooth fairy even came and brought her $5. Lucky duck. Brynley is just growing up so fast.

17 years

17 years ago we were just a couple of teenagers who happened to be really great friends, who eventually fell in love. The end.
It really was that simply in so many ways for us. Just in between the fell in love and the end, insert had a baby right out of high school, went to college, went back to church, Mitch got baptized, got married, got sealed in the SLC temple, Mitch got a great job, scraped our way to buying a home, had Aubrie, I went back to school, we had lots of walks to the park, had Brynley, bought another home, I graduated from college, had Carly, and now we find ourselves enjoying our beautiful kids and each other because along these 17 years together we have realized what truly matters most to us and that is each other.

What do you do to celebrate 17 years together? You go bowling. I still have never beat Mitch in anything we have ever played against each other. But I am pretty sure he wants to keep it that way.
I love you so much Mitchel Lybrook. Still after all these years together I love you more than Diet Vanilla Coke.

The Happs

These two went to the temple on Saturday for our Ward Youth trip. I have to brag on my incredible hubby...Mitch worked nights all week and got home Saturday morning at 7:25, took a shower , threw his clothes on and without any sleep from working a 12 hour shift, went to the temple with Caleb! I am so amazed by what a dedicated father he is. He could have made so many excuses to not go on Saturday but he didnt and I never hear much complaints from him, especially when it comes to doing things for our kids. He puts his own needs and wants to the side to be able to be there for them and he never makes them feel like its a sacrifice even if it is. Amazing.

Caleb looking snazzy in his new shirt and purple tie that Nana picked out. I am proud of this terd for making the straight A honor roll again. I wasnt sure if he would pull it off due to some procrastination on his part but he did and I couldnt be prouder.

Something new that I am doing in our house lately is that I have been making homemade bread instead of buying store bought. Its been over two weeks now and I havent bought a loaf from the store. I have never been good at making bread or rolls so it has been a goal of mine to try and lear how to make it. My friend Kassie hooked me up with her awesome bread recipe and it has worked great for us. Kassie's still seems better, she must sprinkle in some of her awesomeness in it.
Another thing we started doing was juicing! I couldnt be more excited about this new venture. My friend Rachel got me started and so far the whole family is loving it. I have been juicing in the morning and just today incorporated it into my lunch. Our family favorite so far is an apple, carrot, cucumber, spinach, orange, celery, pineapple juice. It is so yummy!

This little lovey has wanted to get her ears pierced for awhile so finally I let her do it. Carly was so brave and even after she made the saddest little face I have ever seen and she cried in my shoulder for a few minutes but after she got a sucker, she seemed to forget about it. She chose the Hello Kitty earrings. Isnt she such a gem?!

Brynley Boo is 6!!!

Happy Birthday to the cutest 6 year old! Brynley I cant believe you are getting so grown up. I love your funny personality, your spunky smile, your big blue eyes, your curly locks, your curious ways,  your smart witty mind, and the sweet love you have for your family. You are one special girl and I am so grateful to be your mom.
Brynley wanted a "Fancy Nancy" party with her friends so for having only a few days to plan and prepare for this shindig, I pulled it together as best as I could. I even decorated and made it look so fun and fancy. She wanted a chocolate cake with chocolate icing for her cake. She kept asking for a puppy but thats just still not something we are ready for, so we opted for a hamster. She picked out a cute little gray and white one and named her Lily. She seems so content and happy with Lily. Yay. I cant see myself having to poop scoop anytime soon.
Happy Birthday Bini Boo! Love you to the moon and back!

We took Brynley out for dinner too. We let her choose wherever she wanted and she chose Mikasa. Its a yummy Japanese restaurant that we all really like. We had them sing to her and she got a free dessert. She is so sweet.
