The Phantom of the Opera is here...

Last Thursday night, Caleb's drama class put on The Phantom of the Opera. And guess who the Phantom was? Caleb did a really great job playing him. I was really impressed with the whole play, for it being played by 7th graders. Their acting skills were good! I am really proud of Caleb's hard work and dedication through this whole process. It was two months of work that paid off the for that one night. Good job Caleb!

Dear Mitch...

I want you to know how much I admire the man that you are. You are the most amazing father and I think someone who is that amazing needs to know that I see your sweetness and nurturing with our children. The fact that you worked 12 hours all night long on only about 6 hours of sleep, to come home and get ready to take Aubrie on her field trip, is above and beyond what any "ordinary" father would do. I know you were tired and would much rather have gone to bed but Aubrie asked you and instead of taking the easy way out, you stepped up and went with her and got home at 11am. Tonight will be a hard night for you because you will probably only get about 5 hours of sleep since you stayed up so much later. And being the awesome dad you are, you will get up in time to see the kids get home from school, so that you spend all the time you can with them, because that is what is most important to you.  You may not be the handyman or yard man that most men are- I think you are more amazing than that! You are the kind of dad that matters most- loving! I  am so proud of who you are and that you are so loyal to your family. Thank you for being the best dad and best husband! I love you and I am so grateful you are mine!
I hope you have a good, safe night and I am happy you are finally off starting tomorrow, it's been a long haul the past two weeks.   Love, Holls

Please dont kill me for putting this picture up! I think its cute that you wear an eye cover to sleep:) Sweet dreams!

Get Pinked Zumba -Thon!

Yesterday I went to a two hour zumba-thon to benefit cancer research. It was put on by the zumba instructors I go to on a weekly basis.  I had such a fun time especially when it means hanging out with a few of my sweet friends, Rachel, Sonja, and Hollee. I didnt get to stay the whole two hours since Aubrie had a soccer game but I got a great workout in and was happy to participate in something meaningful. If you still havent tried Zumba, I highly recommend that you do, its so fun it doesnt seem like a workout but boy is it!  I Love Zumba!

Friday Favorite's...

I think I might make doing Friday Favorite's something new for me to write about. I am thinking it will be about new products, experiences, food, exercise tips, recipes, all things new to me, that I will share. This friday is about my Favorite 8 year old...
Today I took Aubrie out for lunch and decided to just keep her out the rest of the day for a day of all things girly, like browsing the mall and painting our nails.  We had a great time together and I just love everything about this girl. Aubrie is such a sweetie and actually is quite funny. She has a cute sense of humor that I adore. Thanks Aubs for indulging your mama with a day of just me and you, oh and Carly.

My next favorite thing is pretty personal but IT IS my thang. Just ask my family. They all know that I countdown to bedtime for one reason only and that's to take my bath. Ahhhhhh....I have been using these awesome bath salts that I found at Walmart, that a blend of eucalyptus, mint and aloe. It sooothes my sore muscles from my daily workouts and running around I do each day. The bath has its own purpose, eases my stresses and calms me down. Really relaxing now that I have a jacuzzi tub:)
Terrible picture. Sorry.

Who likes Cupcakes?

Carly does, Carly does! We went to a birthday party at our friends house, The Beasley's and the cupcakes were set out on the table. Carly didnt feel the need to be shy there, she helped herself to two cupcakes! She couldn't have hid the evidence with the frosting being blue:) I cant get enough of her cheesy smile!  Oh and notice her itty bitty pony on her head. She finally has enough hair for a little pony tail on top of her head. I think the bow is bigger than the hair in her pony. LOL.

Last night I decided to try and use pieces of fabric to curl the girls hair and surprisingly, it works really well. I will post another picture of them later to see their hair all curled. Thought this was a cute one to share:)

Pumpkin Patch 2011

Today we went on our annual field trip to the Pumpkin Patch in Aztec. This is our third time going with Brynley's school and we went once with Aubrie and twice with Caleb when he was little. That's a whole lotta Pumpkin Patch and we still have Carly's years ahead of us. But no matter how many times we have gone, we always seem to have a good time. The girl's really enjoyed it! Aubrie has been sick all weekend, so we decided to just have her come with us, which made her thrilled to get to go on the field trip. We do the corn maze, the corn pit, each girl picks a pumpkin, ride the train and go on the hayride. It's been wonderful weather and even a crisp fall coolness this morning made the day perfect.

Each year I take a picture of the kids to see how tall they are. And they are getting bigger:)
Want to see how much they have grown in a year? Go here to see last year's post.

They had this wooden cow that was filled with water and the water would come out of the cow if you "milked" it out. Carly was so fascinated with it! She loved milking that cow:) Too funny!

Cal's Cell Project

Don't ya just love when your kid tells you at 10 o'clock at night on a Saturday night, that he has a major project due on Monday morning? Oh, wait does that only happen to me? Sheesh. Caleb sprung this on me last night and since we observe the sabbath (we don't shop on Sundays), I knew it was gonna be a kicker to get done and I just prayed I had all the things he would need to get it all completed. So today he spent a good portion of his day working on it. His project was making a cell either plant, animal or human out of stuff. Could be made out of anything he could come up with. He chose to try it out of cake and food items we had. I have to give it to the kid, he did a really great job. He did it all on his own and came up with some pretty creative things to use in the cell. Awesome job Bud.

Caleb is showing Mitch the finished product and explaining everything in his cell.
