Girls weekend...

My beautiful Sister!

Heather and Henna her love

This past weekend I was able to go and visit my sister Heather in Denver. Mitch kept the kids and I took my first alone vacation ever. Heather was such a great hostess. I didnt know what to do with myself! Heather is a fantastic chef and cooked me some great food. In fact saturday night she made me the best meal ever. Grilled trout stuffed with wild mushroom dexdel (i think thats what its called), orange cauliflower, fresh roasted corn, mussels and chocolate lava cake for dessert. Seriously it was to die for! We went to a farmers market in Boulder where we got our fresh food. I was so jealous at how many organic markets there are up there and how inexpensive they were.
We went to a flea market, to the Flatirons mall (best mall I have ever been to) and for a drive up past Boulder falls and into the mountains, where it was beautiful with fall colors. On friday night she took me to a comedy club and we had a great time, I havent laughed that hard in a long time.
We were able to just hang out and watch movies and be sisters, something I cherish and have missed for a long time. Thank you Heather so much! We will definately have to make it an annual thing.
Mitch did survive with the kids, I think he found a new level of appreciation for me. Caleb had a mild bike incident where he scuffed up his chin, Aubrie had a great soccer game that I missed (of course) and Bryn, well lets just say when she saw me when I got home, she wasnt going to let go of me! She even hit Aubrie in the face and said "Mine" when Aubs tried to hug me. All in all it was a really great weekend.

My TV partner

Anyone who knows me, knows I Tivo my shows that I like to watch and once I put the kids to bed, I have free reign to enjoy my evening. Brynley crawls up on my lap and sits quietly and watches them with me. Tonight I found her patiently waiting for me on the couch, with her "bankie" and the remote in her hand. She must love Oprah as much as I do!

Imagination...

Its a terrible thing to waste. I saw Caleb outside this afternoon playing and making all kids of sounds. He had all these chairs arranged and had some kind of "wand" ( I think he took it off of his blinds) in his hand. He must have been fighting Voldemort or Darth Vader and protecting his castle. I dont know but whatever it was, it was great to see him being a kid!

Kickin it....

Aubrie had her second soccer game yesterday. She is having such a good time playing. She is doing really well for it being her first year. I hope she wants to keep playing, its so nice for her to focus all her energy on something she is enjoying and having a good time with.

Undecisive...

Well this video might just sway your vote. OMG this is one of the cutest things ever! I think I might actually vote now because of this little cutie. I know, not what I should base the future of our country on but how can you resist.

I'm doing it...

We all have lists of things we want to do in life and for some reason don't accomplish some of those things. Why? Well I am tired of putting off some of those goals that I want to do. One of those goals that I have wanted to do is run a marathon. Okay, not a full 26 mile one but I think I could do a 5K. So four weeks ago I started my training for my run that will be in October in Durango. I decided to post this for two reasons, one, Maran if you read this, I hope I am making you proud. You helped inspire me to finally do this. I know you have tried to talk me into it several times but I guess I finally had to talk myself into it! And two, I hope can inspire others to do he same. Not run. But do what you having always had a passion for or make a new goal that will make you feel good about yourself. Quit procastinating... Wish me luck and good luck to all of you too!
