#9...

That is the number of years Mitch and I have been married today! What lovely, hard, blissful, challenging, romantic, fun, captivating, emotional, triumphant, joyful, sweet, crazy, testing, happy years it has been. Marriage is definately one of the most rewarding but difficult tests we have in life. I have been thinking alot about it lately. Marriage is the ultimate sacrifice between two people. We learn to become more Christlike through our marriages. Think about it...we have agreed to be with this one person for better or for worse and in sickness and in health. How could it be easy? We are agreeing to look after another person by our own freewill for the rest of our life or if you have been to the temple for eternity! But what a great love and life a person can have when they find that "someone" to be with. Nothing compares to the closeness that a husband and wife can share. It is sacred and wonderful. You have a best friend and companion to help guide you through this life for the better. Your spouse will love you unconditionally, no matter what your faults or shortcomings and will help you overcome those trials in life. Marriage isnt going to be easy...but it will be worth it in the end.
Top 10 Reasons I Heart my Hubby
1. He makes me laugh, we have way too much humor in our marriage!
2. He gets me. I can be myself around him and know that he accepts me no matter what.
3. He is a great dad. He is never too busy for his kids. He always plays with them and reads them their bedtime stories when he is home. Yesterday he took time off of work to go with Aubrie on her field trip and that is something she will always remember.
4. He is genuine and real. Mitch isnt about impressing people or making things seem fake. He is who he is and is true to himself.
5. He is good to people. Mitch would do just about anything for anyone.
6. He makes me happy. Mitch can turn my day around and make me feel good. Of course he can do the opposite too! LOL.
7. He is a great writer. He still writes me everyday a love letter/email. He even will write in his own handwriting sweet words to me and the kids. Someday he will finish a book, maybe if he wasnt always writing his wife.
8. He tries. He is always trying to be better. A better person, dad, husband, friend. He is always trying to make changes and progress. I admire him for that.
9. He is tenderhearted and sensitive. Every gal likes a guy with feelings.
10. He loves me. Yep, no matter what. He has been there for me through so much. We have had our hard times and trials and through it all we seem to be unbreakable, unmovable in our love. That says something to me. That we can face anything together and still hold on to eachother and what we have together is real.

Mitch- Happy Anniversary my love!! I love you with all my heart!

Fire Prevention Play

Every year Mitch's work-PNM, along with the Farmington Fire Dept. puts on a play with a theme that kids could to relate to, to teach them fire safety. This year was SpongeBoB Squarepants. Mitch is on PNM's Fire team so every year he is asked to be a part of it. This year he played SpongeBob. It was cute. Brynley loved the play but in person she wouldnt even let Mitch hold her. She would say "I dont like Mitch as SpongeBob." She really liked the clowns that the Firefighters dress up as. Its really a great community event for kids to learn the importance of fire safety. We as parents often dont take the time to talk about it because we might think it isnt going to happen to us. But this gives our kids the opportunity to learn and have plans for if a fire was to happen. This year the firefighters had skits that dealt with online predators, wellsite safety and not going alone on hikes. Great topics and info for our little ones. Here is Mitch and Patrick-Brynleys favorite. Oh and Aubrie even got to go on stage as a stop, drop and roll volunteer! Cool.

See she wouldnt have anything to do with her daddy!

The Next American Idol

Tonight Aubrie had her first piano/voice recital at Robyn W. House. It was so funny because Robyn was having the kids all introduce themselves and Aubrie took the Microphone and just held it and so Robyn said "Say My name is..."
So Aubrie said "My name is" without saying her name after she said it. It was so cute! Here is a taste of her singing Jesus is my Shepard. Aubs, you did such a great job. We are so proud of you my Quinny.

Forgiving...

"Somehow forgiveness, with love and tolerance, accomplishes miracles that can happen in no other way". Gordon B. Hinckley
Today at church I thought alot about forgiveness and repentance. What essential attributes it is to have in this life. Christ himself, gave us these gifts for us to use to progress and make ourselves better. If we dont use it we are really taking his sacrifice for granted and not showing our gratitude for his life. We cannot progress when we have feelings of discontent and unkindness towards someone in our life. From my experience we cannot be happy if we have these kinds of feelings weighing us down day to day. When someone offends us we tend to have hurt feelings and turn the blame on that person 100%. Have you ever thought about what happens in a situation where someone has offended us? We automatically want to make ourselves feel better and so we think about the bad things that person has done to us and others and basically drag that person's name through the mud, just to make those feelings of hurt go away. But in reality, we arent making those bad feelings go away we are becoming just as bad as the person who hurt our feelings by acting in this manner. We are just as accountable for the bad situation because of how we decided to handle it. Does this make sense? Forgiveness works on both sides. I have found that it is so hard to be the "better" person so to speak and be the one to say sorry and apologize. But I think its even harder when someone has hurt our feelings to turn the other cheek and instead of being offended and mad...be the one who forgives another for their trespasses. Just letting that person know that you feel hurt by their actions or words and tell them you forgive them right away instead of making a big deal about it. I really think that one of the biggest things we are going to be judged in this life about is how we treated other people. Christ was the ultimate example of loving those around him unconditionally no matter what. Even when he was hanging on the cross he said to our Heavenly Father "Father please forgive them for they know not what they do". Such powerful words. Words that penetrate my heart when I hear them. Christ was dying and asking for forgiveness for the people that are killing him.
We might think somethings in life are unforgivable but this example proves other wise. A bishop of mine once said to me "You dont have to forgive today or even tomorrow but as long as you are working on it, you are making progress to becoming a better person and to be at peace with that person" Such wonderful advice and I know it changed my life.
I was just thinking about these things today and wanted to share. I hope that I can be more apt to forgiving. And I hope that we can make miracles happen by using repetance and forgiveness in our lives, they go hand in hand.

5K

So I ran my first 5K this morning! I am so happy its over. My run time was 34:24 and I finished last. But I am so happy I did it. I even cried as I crossed the finish line. I cannpot express the feeling that I felt finshing. I can see why its so addicting because you want to beat your time and do even better.

There is going to be another one in September so I will see how much better I can do. This was one of the HARDEST things I have ever done. But it has been a goal for me for a long time to run a 5K and I am so happy I can scratch this off my list of things to do in my lifetime.

A Nice, Positive Post...maybe

I am having such a crappy couple of days. Boo. So TIRED. I have no idea why. My doctor started me on some new meds last week for my thyroid but they increased it and so I thought I would be feeling dandy but instead feel so tired. I am about to regress and have a Diet Coke just to give me a pick me up!
I have been so stressed out too which probably isnt doing me any favors. Stresses... Mitch is working alot right now, Bryn wasnt feeling good today, selling a house sucks, PNM sucks too, my knee hurts, its cold, school is lame, and family members are bugging me. Alot of negativity. Sorry. I need to vent somehow.
So I am going to try and list five things that made me happy today...
1. My sweet, ever loving Hubby. Really he is the best. He tries so hard to make me smile and feel loved.
2. Talked to my dear friend Trish, she knows how to bring me up again.
3. Caleb he can be so compassionate and he will talk your ear off if you let him. He told me a funny story that happened to him today. Made me laugh.
4. The Hills Premieres tonight Yay!
5. And this makes me smile...Bryn singing a song from The Little Rascals. She is so beautiful, even with a runny, congested nose!

We did it...

Yep we finally have taken the plunge and we put our house up for sale! Scary. We have grown so accustomed to our little home but it is now time to let it go and move on. So if you know anyone who is interested send them our way. We have it listed with Breanna Lucas and she is with Remax, she's awesome and we know she will do a great job! Our house has four bedrooms, 2 baths, and everything has been updated! Great little starter home for a first time homebuyer. Wish us luck!
