Last day of school 2011

Another school year has come and gone and I cant believe how fast it went! Aubrie had such an amazing year with Mrs. Bateman. I have to tell everyone what an amazing reader she is. Aubrie started out first grade reading at a first grade one month level and she ended it reading a fourth grade reading level!! Can u believe that?! She has found a new passion. She loves books and looks forward to getting new books. I cant keep up with her;) Soo proud of you Aubrie! Glad you had such a great year in first grade. I cant believe you will be in 2nd grade next year already.

Brynley had a family picnic at a park for her last day of preschool at Casa Montessori. She loves her friends and teachers there so much. It has been such a blessing in our life to be able to send Brynley there. Her teachers love her and tell us how sweet she is. Brynley accomplished something tihs year, she learned to write her name and she can count to 40. Pretty darn good for being four! She will go one more year and start kindergarten! What?!

On the last day of school, my dear friend Shira had a water party at Taylor Park for a bunch of kids. My kids had a blast! Shira is so awesome, she had slip n slides set up, volleyball, a kickball slip n slide game, sprinklers, a cotton candy machine, snowcones, and tons of food for everyone. It was such a beautiful day and good company to hang with. Thanks a ton Shira!

Carly has been sickly all week and she hung out with me and Mitch but she would wander around the park watching everyone have a good time. Poor baby seems to always be sick.
I am so happy for summer to be here. I am happy for the everyday routine to change and to enjoy my kids all summer. I have some fun activites planned for us:)

Bad Henry

On Monday night Caleb had his project presentation for his two gifted classes, english and reading called Night of the Notables. Each kid has to pick a person in history and do a big project on this person. At this presentation the kids had a backboard they worked on, a biography sketch, their favorite food and had to be ready to answer lots of questions by the parents who attended it. Caleb did great. He chose Hank Aaron. Gee, I wonder why? Because he loves baseball. He talked a lot about all the things he was learning about Hank Aaron the past months. Different quotes and facts about the great baseball legend.  A few of his famous quotes were..."It took me 17 years to hit 3,000 balls in baseball, but I did it in one afternoon on a golf course."  "Didn't come up to read, came up to hit" Really fantastic job Caleb!

Fairy Ballerina Brynley

Today at Brynley's preschool was Crazy day! Where you can dress up all crazy and fun. Brynley chose to dress as a "Fairy Ballerina" as she called it. I thought it was pretty darn cute!

Field Day Rockstar

Aubrie had her field day at school last week on Thursday. Mitch took the day off to be with her, only we didn't anticipate all the weather we would get that day and most  of her field day was cold and rainy. But that didnt stop our Aubs. She got first place in the lap run and kangaroo walk, second place in 100 yard dash and jumprope and third place in softball.  Awesome! She had such a fun time!

I just can't get enough...

My sweet girls. I really can't get enough of their pretty smiles. I ended up taking them to the mall yesterday to find Aubrie something warm and comfy to wear on her field day, since the weather is predicting to be really crappy on Thursday. However, we didnt find much in the way of little girls track suits but they did manage to find some new outfits, that matched! They were so excited to be trying on clothes and finding outfits that matched. I had thought that they were getting to old to match but what did I know. I love having girls and having three girls. They are each so much fun and different, I really am happy that they have eachother. Sisters are special.

Here is a pic of my boy playing ball. Isn't he studly?

Just some pics...

I took this last night at Caleb's baseball game while Mitch was coaching, Brynley ran over, climbed the fence and stole a kiss from her daddy. The cutest thing. Also last night at the game, we were blowing them away until both of out catcher's got hurt. The first one got a foul ball hit into his leg and our second catcher was hit with the ball right in the forehead. We think what happened was the umpire wasnt paying attention and the batter stepped in the batters box, the pitcher looked at a runner on a base, came back and pitched the ball, at that same moment, our catcher was taking his helmet off to tell the umpire that the batter was ready. But at that same moment, our catcher was hit hard in the head. Such a fluke accident but so traumatizing for everyone there. I am grateful for Mitch who is trained as an EMT basic and responsed quickly to the incident. Poor Mitch feels terrible about it and I know our pitcher felt soo badly too. The rest of the night didnt go so well. I think our team was shook up and lost their focus. After our catcher was taken away in the ambulance, Mitch and Caleb gathered their team in a circle and Caleb said a prayer for our catcher. Mitch said he choked back tears when Caleb was saying the prayer. It was a sight to see a team of little guys bowing their heads in prayer to ask our Heavenly Father for their teammate to be watched over and healed. Grateful for the gospel.

Caleb got his umpire uniform and will be starting his summer job this coming week:)

My beautiful girls. Breaktaking.

Carly. Aka the Climber. I cant keep her off of anything right now. She climbs on the patio tables, the dining room table, everything!

Just me.
