Bubba & Aub

A post about the first two. Bubba is what Carly says to Caleb as his name most days. And Aub is what Carly has started to call Aubrie. First off, last Sunday I was a bad mom and didnt blog about the fact that Aubrie sang in sacrament meeting a solo. In front of the ward. With no one else. She is awesome because I could NEVER do that! Too scary for me. Plus my voice does not even sound close to how beautiful Aubrie's was. Absolutely beautiful! I was so proud of her that I wanted to cry when she was singing. I dont think I have ever fought back tears like I had to at that moment. And Aubrie also brought home a superb report card. She  rocked it! Since they dont do letter grades in 2nd grade, She was well above on every thing she was tested on. She told me that her and one other boy are in the highest reading group in her class:) She is an awesome singer and awesome student!

Bubba brought home straight A's again! Yes. He is awesome too. For having all advanced (gifted) classes and an 8th grade math class, I have to be impressed. Caleb also gave a talk in sacrament for the first time too today. He is pretty much the coolest boy I have ever met. He is strong in who he is and his testimony in Jesus Christ.  Today he also went to school dressed up as the Joker (Heath Ledger style). I pulled up to the front of the school and noticed that no one was really dressed up or had makeup on like he did. I told him "If you dont feel comfortable I can take you home to change" But Caleb with his brilliant smile said "No mom, I dont care if I am the only one in the whole school, I am who I am".   Stud I tell you.

Friday Favorite's...

Yep, today is Friday and for once in my life I am not ready for Friday to be here. Because I need more days in my week and more time this week to get some of the things I wanted to get done and I didn't get done. Because I am a procrastinator. Slacker. Yeah, that's me. But I wanted to keep up on my blog and since I promised a Friday Favorite post, here it is. My favorite new found beauty product...
           Lush eau roma water facial toner spray. I had been looking for a good toner for my skin and came across this loveliness in a bottle. After I wash my face, I sprintz this all over it and it gives my skin a little wake up call. Smells awesome and was worth every penny. 19.95 Lush.com

 This week was such a whirlwind to me. I am not sure if its the fact that we have had so much going on the past few weeks and it just seems to keep following me or the fact that its the end of the month but I am looking forward to some quiet down time. Soccer is coming to an end and baseball will be done next weekend for a little while so I will enjoy more time at home and more time as a family:)

 Carly was playing on the trampoline with Brynley and her friend Ellie when I came out to check on them, I found this little monkey with the craziest hair! Loved it. We were all laughing at how cute she was but she didnt think it was a laughing matter.
                                              
I hope everyone has a great,safe Halloween weekend. We have lots planned, pumpkin carving, church party, and a dinner with family. I hope all of you enjoy your little ghouls and goblins!

Durango Date

 Last Friday, we decided to sneak away with the two older kids up to Durango to see the beautiful fall colors. Caleb and Aubrie didn't have school and Brynley did so we took Carly to our babysitter Amanda's house for the day and made a date with Aubs and Caleb. It was absolutely beauitful with the rich golden, red and orange colors on the drive up through La Plata and Hesperus. Durango looked just as pretty. We had a yummy lunch at Steamworks. If you ever go have their Chop Salad. It has grilled Salmon, pepitas, dried cranberries, shoepeg corn, pearled couscous, tomato, with a gorgonzola vinagrette dressing. Its my favorite salad to get.  Then we took a walk/run down by the river about 2 miles and enjoyed the beauitful weather and scenery. It was nice to get away with Aubrie and Caleb. So often its a balacing act with four to kids to make sure everyone has equal attention and love from Mitch and I. They seemed to enjoy themselves and it was a nice treat to do something different.                                                             

                         All Mitch wanted to do is throw his football to one of us.

The Phantom of the Opera is here...

Last Thursday night, Caleb's drama class put on The Phantom of the Opera. And guess who the Phantom was? Caleb did a really great job playing him. I was really impressed with the whole play, for it being played by 7th graders. Their acting skills were good! I am really proud of Caleb's hard work and dedication through this whole process. It was two months of work that paid off the for that one night. Good job Caleb!

Dear Mitch...

I want you to know how much I admire the man that you are. You are the most amazing father and I think someone who is that amazing needs to know that I see your sweetness and nurturing with our children. The fact that you worked 12 hours all night long on only about 6 hours of sleep, to come home and get ready to take Aubrie on her field trip, is above and beyond what any "ordinary" father would do. I know you were tired and would much rather have gone to bed but Aubrie asked you and instead of taking the easy way out, you stepped up and went with her and got home at 11am. Tonight will be a hard night for you because you will probably only get about 5 hours of sleep since you stayed up so much later. And being the awesome dad you are, you will get up in time to see the kids get home from school, so that you spend all the time you can with them, because that is what is most important to you.  You may not be the handyman or yard man that most men are- I think you are more amazing than that! You are the kind of dad that matters most- loving! I  am so proud of who you are and that you are so loyal to your family. Thank you for being the best dad and best husband! I love you and I am so grateful you are mine!

Get Pinked Zumba -Thon!

Yesterday I went to a two hour zumba-thon to benefit cancer research. It was put on by the zumba instructors I go to on a weekly basis.  I had such a fun time especially when it means hanging out with a few of my sweet friends, Rachel, Sonja, and Hollee. I didnt get to stay the whole two hours since Aubrie had a soccer game but I got a great workout in and was happy to participate in something meaningful. If you still havent tried Zumba, I highly recommend that you do, its so fun it doesnt seem like a workout but boy is it!  I Love Zumba!

Friday Favorite's...

I think I might make doing Friday Favorite's something new for me to write about. I am thinking it will be about new products, experiences, food, exercise tips, recipes, all things new to me, that I will share. This friday is about my Favorite 8 year old...

 Today I took Aubrie out for lunch and decided to just keep her out the rest of the day for a day of all things girly, like browsing the mall and painting our nails.  We had a great time together and I just love everything about this girl. Aubrie is such a sweetie and actually is quite funny. She has a cute sense of humor that I adore. Thanks Aubs for indulging your mama with a day of just me and you, oh and Carly.

My next favorite thing is pretty personal but IT IS my thang. Just ask my family. They all know that I countdown to bedtime for one reason only and that's to take my bath. Ahhhhhh....I have been using these awesome bath salts that I found at Walmart, that a blend of eucalyptus, mint and aloe. It sooothes my sore muscles from my daily workouts and running around I do each day. The bath has its own purpose, eases my stresses and calms me down. Really relaxing now that I have a jacuzzi tub:)

The curls emded up being so tight and curly that their hair was wild! They both looked like they had fro's:)
